Bieber, 24, and Baldwin, 21, have not commented on the news, originally reported Sunday morning by TMZ.

Several news outlets, citing anonymous sources, appeared to back up the TMZ report of the engagement, which was reportedly announced Saturday night in the Bahamas.

Starr power: Ringo turns 78 today

He paid his dues because he wanted to sing the blues, and more than any other rock ‘n’ roll drummer, Ringo Starr knew that fame didn’t come easy.

Sure, he achieved stardom as a member of The Beatles, who took England by storm in 1963 and followed it up by spearheading the “British Invasion” to the United States in 1964. But the man born Richard Starkey Jr. in Liverpool on July 7, 1940, was a sickly child who spent a year in the hospital due to peritonitis and two years in a sanitarium for pleurisy.

The oldest Beatle has led a charmed life. Here are some fun facts about Ringo:

His nickname came from his penchant for wearing several rings.

Starr played drums for several bands in Liverpool before joining the Beatles, most notably with Rory Storm and the Hurricanes from 1959 to 1962.

He joined the Beatles on Aug. 18, 1962, replacing Pete Best.

When the Beatles went into the EMI studios on Sept. 4, 1962, to record their first single, “Love Me Do,” producer George Martin was unhappy with Starr’s ability, He subsequently hired session drummer Andy White to play on the single, Rolling Stone reported.

Starr was called upon in several Beatles albums to take the lead vocal, including “Boys” on the band’s debut album in Britain, “I Wanna Be Your Man” on “With the Beatles,” “Act Naturally” on “Rubber Soul” and “Yellow Submarine,” on “Revolver.” On the band’s seminal work, “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” Starr was the lead singer on “With A Little Help From My Friends.”

Starr had his first writing credit with the Band on the song “Flying” from “Magical Mystery Tour.” All four Beatles received songwriting credits for this instrumental. Starr’s first self-penned composition came on the White Album, “Don’t Pass Me By.” His second came on “Abbey Road” with “Octopus’ Garden.”

As a solo artist, Starr hit No. 1 in Canada and No. 4 in the United States with his 1970 song, “It Don’t Come Easy.” Starr performed the song at George Harrison’s Concert for Bangladesh in August 1971, but forgot some of the lyrics during the live show and mumbled them.

Other Starr hits include “Photograph,” “You’re Sixteen” (both No. 1 hits in 1973), “Only You,” “The No No Song” and “Back Off Boogaloo.”

Starr has appeared in 15 films, beginning with “Candy” in 1968 and “The Magic Christian” the following year. He met his future wife, Barbara Bach, on the set of “Caveman,” which was released in 1981.

Starr was nominated for 27 Grammy Awards and won nine times during his career. He was given a Lifetime Achievement Award as a member of the Beatles.

He won an Academy Award in 1971 for Best Musical Score with his Beatles bandmates for “Let It Be.”

On Jan. 20, 1988, Starr and the other Beatles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was inducted as a solo artist on Apr. 18, 2015.

On Dec. 17, 2017, Starr became the second Beatle knighted by Queen Elizabeth II. Paul McCartney was knighted by the queen in 1996.

Information from wire services and Ringo Starr’s website was used in compiling this report.

Spider-Man debuted in Amazing Fantasy #15 in 1962, and a year later Marvel launched “Amazing Spider-Man,” the character’s first standalone series, with Ditko and Lee handling the illustrations, Variety reported.

Costello did not say what type of cancer he had, or where it was located, but said that his doctor contacted him six weeks ago.

“He had rarely, if ever, seen such a small but very aggressive cancerous malignancy that could be defeated by a single surgery,” Costello said in a statement.

But the physical demand of touring and performing nightly has taken a toll on him as he recovered, so doctors have told him to rest, NBC News reported.

In the statement about the cancellations, Costello wrote:

The spirit has been more than willing but I have to now accept that it is going to take longer than I would have wished for me to recover my full strength. Therefore, I must reluctantly cancel all the remaining engagements of this tour.

Costello announced in the statement that he has a new album that will be released in October. He also offered this advice to his fans.

Take very good care of your loved ones but Gentlemen, do talk to your friends -- you’ll find that you are not alone -- seek your doctor’s advice if you are in doubt or when it is timely and act as swiftly as you may in these matters. It may save your live. Believe me, it is better than playing roulette.

Ronda Rousey becomes first woman inductee in UFC Hall of Fame

Ronda Rousey, who dominated the women’s mixed martial arts division with a string of convincing victories over a three-year period, became the first woman inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame on Thursday, ESPN reported.

>> Read more trending news

Rousey, 31, was the UFC’s first women’s champion. As the company’s bantamweight champion, she held the title from 2012 to 2015 and defended the belt six times. She won her first 12 mixed martial arts matches -- all by submission -- and appeared unbeatable until she was stunned in November 2015 by Holly Holm in a second-round loss. A comeback match against Amanda Nunes in December 2016 ended in a 48-second loss in the first round. Rousey has not competed in mixed martial arts since and signed with the WWE in January, ESPN reported.

“I am not the first person who had the ability to do this, but I am here because I am the first person you took the time to watch, that you put the energy into supporting," Rousey said during her induction speech in Las Vegas at the Pearl Theatre. “Because of you, I am the first woman standing up here accepting this incredible honor. May I be the first of many."

Rousey won a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, becoming the first American woman to win a medal in judo. Rousey debuted in the UFC in 2013, defeating Liz Carmouche in the UFC’s first women’s fight.

"In my almost 18 years as UFC president, I've learned many valuable lessons," UFC president Dana White said as he presented Rousey. "And the one that comes to mind tonight is never say never, especially when you're talking to UFC. In my defense, when I famously said women would never fight in the UFC, I had never met Ronda Rousey. I had never met the woman who would change everything. She started by changing my mind and she ended up changing the world."

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith refer to each other as life partners, not husband and wife

Will Smith says he and Jada Pinkett Smith don’t refer to each other as husband and wife.

E! News reported that the actor spoke to Tidal’s Rap Radar podcast and said that he and Pinkett Smith don’t refer to each other in terms of being married.

>> Read more trending news

“We don't even say we’re married anymore. We refer to ourselves as ‘life partners,’ where you get into that space where you realize you are literally with somebody for the rest of your life,” he said. “There’s no deal-breakers. There’s nothing she could do -- ever -- nothing that would break our relationship. She has my support till death, and it feels so good to get to that space where you’re not complaining, and worrying, and demanding that a person be a certain thing.”

People reported that Pinkett Smith said something similar about their relationship while speaking to Sway Calloway in June.

“Here’s the thing about Will and I. It’s like, we are family. That is never going down. It’s just not. Ever,” she said. “We are family. Take out all that whole marriage/relationship crap. At the end of the day, Will and I are family. I am going to hold him down. Doesn’t matter. All that relationship and what people think, ideas of a husband and a partner and all that, man, whatever, at the end of the day, that’s a man that can rely on me for the rest of his life, period.”

The couple, who have been married for more than 20 years, are regularly plagued by divorce rumors and allegations of an open relationship. Smith addressed divorce rumors in “To the Clique,” a song he posted on YouTube in May.

“Twenty years of swag y’all just witnessed, stop the divorce rumors and mind your damn business,” Smith raps in the song.

Pinkett Smith and Smith met in 1994 and began dating in 1995. They will be married 21 years in December.
