Nearly a third of searches for Valentine cards on Yahoo! are done by kids under 13, and 22 percent of all searches related to Valentine Day are by girls, according to the internet company.

Among teens 13 to 17 years old -- possibly the most romantic among us -- the top trending "romance" searches going into February were:
Among the general population (not just teens), people searched for the date of Valentine's Day, gift ideas, and recipes. And flowers. Lots of people searched for flowers. Every year, the biggest spikes on Yahoo! for "flowers" occur around Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.
Not all the recent Valentine-themed searches were starry-eyed. Some were blurry with tears, apparently, as Yahoo! identified a spike in searches for "broken heart syndrome," "love hurts" and "sad love quotes."
