UPDATE @ 12:05 a.m. (Aug. 1)

The stabbing victim was identified early today as 33-year-old Ross A. Clark of Dayton, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

UPDATE @ 4:58 a.m.

Dayton police confirm the victim in the stabbing on South Trenton Street is dead.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police.

Police said the victim’s girlfriend is responsible for the stabbing, but it’s unknown if the woman will face any charges.

The woman called 911 shortly after stabbing the man. Detectives are currently interviewing the woman, according to police.

FIRST REPORT

Dispatchers said homicide detectives are investigating after a man was reported stabbed on South Trenton Street Sunday morning.

Crews were dispatched to the first block of South Trenton Street around 2:40 a.m. on reports of a man stabbed in the chest by his girlfriend.

The condition of the victim was not immediately known.
