Is Shia LaBeaouf’s very public meltdown continuing or is the actor staging a publicity stunt?
Here’s what we know:
The 27-year-old actor, who tweets “I AM NOT FAMOUS ANYMORE” every day, was at a news conference for Lars von Trier’s Nymphomaniac on Sunday and walked out (not stormed out as some reports say) after delivering one bizarre line.
Sitting alongside Christian Slater, Stacy Martin, Stellan Skarsgard, Uma Thurman and producer Louise Vesth, Shia said, “When the seagulls follow the trawler, it’s because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea. Thank you very much.”
As you’ll see in the video below, Stacy begins laughing almost immediately, while Shia, who is missing a lower tooth, delivers his line.
Christian, who was caught off guard, joked about the moment saying, “Obviously the script is packed with sardines … one after another.”
The smart folks at Indi Wirefigured out that either Shia is plagiarizing again or he’s playing homage to the legendary Manchester United soccer player Eric Cantona. Below you will see Shia’s news conferencethen Cantona’s and you can see the quote is exact down to taking a drink of water and walking out.
I personally think, the jokes on all of us!
