A documentary aired on British TV Thursday night called Crazy About One Direction, described by it’s broadcaster Channel Four as a show that “explored the relationship between fans and the boy band – including their fantasies about the band, the lengths they go to meet the band, and the aggressive actions Directioners take on Twitter against those who cross them.”
And naturally, the 1D nation exploded all over Twitter in rage. Even to the degree that word spread of mass suicides involving fans who support and believe that Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles are more than just friends and bandmates, known as “LarryShippers.” “#RIP LarryShippers was trending worldwide for most of the day on Friday.
But one member of the band has stepped up to calm the troubled One Direction Nation. Liam Payne tweeted out words of appreciation Friday morning:
“Just so all of you know we love you guys and we know how dedicated you are and that we can’t believe it that you guys spend all you time on us.”
“We couldn’t give a f*ck what any documentary says there dramatized for entertainment and full of bullsh*t anyway we all know…how hard you work for us and see it everyday at our shows, Let’s all take a step back and think about what we/you have all achieved. You should be proud.”
While his words spread across the Twittersphere, #ThankYouLiam began trending.
Thus far, no suicides related to the airing of the documentary have been confirmed.
