American Idol fans were worried that one of the first stars to make it on the show — Justin Guarini — was destitute, but the singer says there is nothing to worry about — everything was blown out of proportion.
Kelly Clarkson’s runner-up on the first season on Idol wrote an essay on his new blog that People picked up causing his website to crash and fans to panic.
Justin said that he has “spent days skipping meals” so that his family would have enough, that he is “struggling to make each day meet the next without breaking down and curling up,” and that he envies people with desk jobs because “at least you know where your next meal is coming from.” Based on that his fans were worried he was going broke!
But, Justin has taken to Twitter to say everyone misunderstood his essay:
RumorFix found the original quote that appears to be taken out of context: “There was a time when I wouldn’t have been concerned about the amazing expense of eating at place like Green Symphony. Now, I budget. I have spent days skipping meals in order to make sure I have enough. To make sure my children, and my wife have enough.”
He adds, ”I have a wife whom I love and who loves me (me!) and who lifts me up. Children who give me cherubic-lipped kisses before I leave for work and who are the most delicious morsels of joy and peace and prosperity.”
It seems like Justin is on a budget — like the rest of us — but that things are looking up. He was just cast in the role of Paris in the new Broadway version of Romeo & Juliet starring Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad. His performances star in eight days, August 24.
