Rumors are swirling that former King of Queens actress Leah Remini has left the controversial Church of Scientology
Remini is one of Hollywood’s most high profile members, which also include Tom Cruise, Kirstie Alley, John Travolta and Kelly Preston. She’s been a member since she was a teenager and was raised within the church and it’s beliefs.
But according to the New York Post, she’s cut ties with the church due to it’s leader David Miscavige and his policy of not allowing parishioners to question his management and policies. She’s allegedly also strongly against the church’s policy of not allowing it’s followers communicate with family members who aren’t Scientologists.
The Post claims the breaking point for 43-year-old Remini came after years of “interrogations” aimed at breaking her spirit through “thought modification” and other psychologically invasive procedures.
RumorFix reached out to Leah’s reps, who were unaware of the actress’ current status with the church. The Church of Scientology does not comment on it’s members citing privacy issues.
While Leah hasn’t spoke out publically, she did post a cryptic Twitter post on Sunday from the late Austrian psychiatrist and Holocaust survivor Viktor Frankl that reads “when we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
The Church of Scientology is vehemently anti-psychiatry so her choice to quote a noted psychiatrist … along with his message … seems very telling.
