I can believe a lot of things about Amanda Bynes.
I can believe that she decided to start a rap career. She sang in Hairspray after all!
But, never in my imagination would I think she would become a writer for Vanity Fair!
A modern day Dominick Dunne? I don’t think so!
But you gotta love VF -- they are call it what it is: “Journey to Relevancy: The Amanda Bynes Manifest.”
The column is supposed to explain what she did today and why.
On Thursday’s blog she explains why “surgery is my favorite topic” and why she got a nose job.
“I didn’t undergo rhinoplasty for my health—far from it! It was an (admittedly gonzo!) experiment. The thesis is rather boring to me now—impossible standards of beauty and their relationship to late-period capitalism, blah, blah, blah—but the basic idea was to experience for myself a popular procedure in the hopes of understand its cross-cultural appeal. And so do it? Do I understand its appeal? I can’t say that I do.”
